Family Experience

What do we teach children?

We believe you can’t teach everything and we don’t want to teach just anything that’s why we teach less for more from God’s Word.

Concept:

252 Basics is a unique approach built around three Basic Biblical Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.

• I need to make the wise choice.

• I can trust God no matter what.

• I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Each Basic Truth is amplified by a weekly key concept and systematically taught over a three-year track. The curriculum includes 150 Bible stories and is based on a Core Virtue and Memory Verse as the framework for each month

What is FX?

FX is where kids and parents experience God’s Big Ideas together! It is a monthly, 60-minute, fun, interactive, multi-media shared experience designed for families. FX meets at the main stage in the FLC.

What’s the Big Idea?

It’s something that every parent wants their kid to learn. We would like to say that we came up with these ideas first, but actually, they are God’s Big Ideas, such as self- control, honesty, patience, and gratitude . There is a different Big Idea each month that is the over-riding theme in FX and X-252 Basic Groups. Every element of FX and our small groups are centered on the Word of God, which is 100% true.

Why does FX exist?

KidStuf exists to partner with parents. We believe that parents are ultimately responsible for the spiritual development of their children (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). We also recognize that parents have a whole lot more time with their kids than anyone at church. In fact, each year kids spend about 3,000 hours with their parents versus the 40 or so that they will spend attending church on Sunday.  As a result, no one has more influence over a child than his or her parent. Because of this, we believe that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church alone.  We believe that it is our role to partner with parents by providing a plan that will give them the tools they need to lead their kids spiritually. This plan is launched at FX on Wednesdays at 7pm downstairs on the FLC Main Stage.

Who should attend FX?

Kids (Kindergarten through 5th grade) AND their parent or grandparent. We ask that all kids attend with a guardian.

What is a Take Out?

Since FX is such “good food” from God’s Word you’ll want to take it with you. We call this “Take Out”, it is an application tool to help you do what you heard all month long.

How do I get the FX Take-Out?

By coming to FX the first Wednesday of each month. Every family who comes to FX receives a Take-Out .

What do you have to help me as a parent?

Different take home materials are available at FX and can be picked up at our resource table at the back.

These tools are based on the biblical model that teaches that the home should be the primary place where a child learns about God.

Here’s what the Bible says to parents about teaching virtues to their children…

“ Impress them upon your children. Talk to them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6;7 NIV

These resources provide activities to be used once a week during your weekly family times- MealTime, DriveTime, BedTime, and MorningTime. All of this is designed to give parents simple ways to help their kids grow up like Jesus did in faith and character.

“ And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.”

Luke 2:52

So please join us at FX where kids bring their parents to learn virtues with them.
